Shopian, Feb 26 (KNT): The District Magistrate Shopian has ordered the reopening of the Mughal Road for vehicular traffic from February 27, subject to favourable weather conditions and traffic advisories.
According to an official order issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, movement of vehicles on the Shopian–Peer Ki Gali stretch of National Highway-701A will be allowed from February 27 onwards, provided weather conditions remain conducive and no unforeseen circumstances arise.
The order states that traffic movement shall strictly follow advisories issued by the traffic police.
The Officer Commanding 52 RCC GREF, Border Roads Organisation (BRO), has been directed to keep men and machinery in place to deal with any eventualities, including landslides, avalanches and shooting stones, to ensure smooth passage of vehicles.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Shopian, ARTO Shopian and Dy SP Traffic Shopian have been asked to deploy adequate personnel for effective implementation of the order.
Authorities have advised commuters to check official traffic updates before planning travel on the route.
