Saffron flowers have bloomed at several spots in Pampore known as saffron town. The picturesque fields with maroon, yellow and purple hues of the flowers are attracting hundreds of tourists.

“Since last one week, tourists have started arriving in the field. They are seen clicking pictures in fields,” said Ghulam Qadir of Pampore.

He said that due to recent rains saffron fields have started blooming and are attracting hundreds of tourists and the number is increasing with each passing day.

Like tourists click photographs in Dal Lake, Pahalgam, Gulmarg and other tourist spots, tourists are mesmerised by the beauty of saffron fields.

Bilal Ahmad, another local said that visitors are delighted by the fragrance of the saffron prompting them to purchase saffron on the spot.
