Teenage Boy Drowns in Pond in Handwara Village, Rescue Operation Underway

Srinagar, Jun 26 : A 17-year-old boy has drowned in a pond in Rajwar area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon.

Reports reaching GNS said that Altaf Ahmad Tanchi son of Mohammad Shafi Tanchi, resident of Bowen Watsar drowned in a pond while taking bath. The others boys accompanying him raised an alarm following which police and locals started a rescue operation at the site.

The rescue operation was later joined by army’s 21 RR, however there was no trace found when this report was being filed. (GNS)
