Kupwara’s specially-abled student to get assistive device, announces Union Minister

Srinagar, Jun 04 : Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Pratima Bhoumik on Saturday said that they have directed the officials at Srinagar to contact the specially-abled boy who is walking to school on one leg and provide necessary assistive device urgently to him.

As per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), in the video, class 9 student Parvaiz Ahmad is seen struggling and hopping on one leg in order to reach the school in Kupwara. As soon as the video went online, it reached thousands of people and touched their hearts.

“We have taken note of it. The Officers of Composite Regional Center, Srinagar under @MSJEGOI Ministry, GoI have been directed to contact the boy and provide necessary Assistive Device urgently,” The Union Minister informed in a tweet.

“We are obliged to care for all Divyangjan in the country under the able leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji,” she said in a tweet.

Meanwhile, Jaipur Foot USA chairman Prem Bhandari has also decided to help the specially-abled boy with an artificial limb free of cost.

He decided to help Parvaiz after seeing his video where he can be seen walking to school on one leg despite dilapidated road conditions of his village.

As already reported by KNO that Parvaiz Ahmad’s interest in getting an education has not been diminishing despite having to walk to school on just one leg, leaving everybody surprised by his indomitable spirit.

He had said that he was very interested in getting education from his childhood and his disability would not prevent him to pursue his dream—(KNO)
