According to an official order, a copy of which lies with GNS, the traffic movement will remain suspended at Danakha Mode near Design Chainage 65 plus 600 and at NS Bridge, Uri near Design Chainage 102 plus 800 from 7 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

The decision, the order says, follows a request from the Officer Commanding, 53 RCC of the General Reserve Engineer Force, who informed the district administration about proposed hill cutting work at the identified locations. The officer flagged the risk of landslides during execution of the work, citing recent incidents of minor landslips along the same road stretch.

The administration noted that the nature of the work and prevailing conditions necessitate temporary restrictions to prevent any loss of life or damage to property.

The order directs the Senior Superintendent of Police Baramulla to deploy adequate police personnel at the affected locations. The traffic wing has been instructed to manage diversions through alternate routes and ensure installation of proper barricades at both sites.

Authorities have advised road users to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with enforcement agencies during the closure period. (GNS)
