Jammu, Feb 24 : Jammu Police on Monday apprehended two wanted criminals and seized illegal arms and ammunition during a surprise naka checking operation on the Ring road in Miran Sahib area.

In a statement, issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said that three criminals namely Rajat Raina alias Rishu, Raghunandan Kesar alias Raghu, and Goura Jatt who fired some shots at Swarn Palace, Miran Sahib, during a function were wanted since then.

The statement reads that an FIR No. 27/2025 U/S 109/3(5) BNS, 3/25 Arms Act was registered in this regard and investigation was taken up.

It reads that police established a surprise naka (checkpoint) on the Ring road in Miran Sahib area to nab these criminals and finally two wanted criminals namely Rajat Raina and Raghunandan Kesar, who were traveling in a Thar vehicle were apprehended.

“Two pistols, three live rounds and one empty round were recovered from their possession. Thar vehicle has also been seized while search for Goura Jatt is still ongoing,” it added.

It further reads that the accused are being interrogated to uncover their involvement in past crimes and possible links to organized gangs while further investigation is underway—(KNO)
