The tragedy has not only left their elderly parents grief-stricken but also rekindled painful memories of their elder brother, who met a similar fate on the same highway a few years ago.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the incident occurred at around 10:30 PM on Thursday, following which a rescue operation, led by SDRF, police and local volunteers was launched.

The bodies were recovered on Friday morning, they said and identified the duo as Danish Imtiyaz Khan and Yasir Imtiyaz Khan of Chijhama Rafiabad in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The family sources said that the siblings were the sole breadwinners of their family. The incident has shattered their elderly parents, who have lost all the three sons in the road accidents including the two, who died today.

The sudden loss has plunged not just the family but the entire Rafiabad region into mourning, with villagers braving the winter chill rushing to their home to offer their condolences.
