Srinagar, Dec 09 : The much-awaited Sanat Nagar flyover, coming up at the cost of Rs 38 crore, would likely to be completed by May 2025 with the officials in the Roads and Building (R&B) department stating that 75 per cent of the project has been completed so far.

Speaking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the officials in the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department said the girders for the flyover have been casted, and 90% of one side’s approach work has been completed so far, adding that the work on the other side is progressing steadily.

“We have cast the girders, and they will be raised in about 10 days, with one side’s approach completed by 90%, and work on the other side ongoing,” said the official from the R&B department.

Similarly, the Sanat Nagar intersection has long been a traffic bottleneck, causing frequent delays and frustrations for commuters.

A resident from Nowgam said he travels through this route daily, and the traffic jams are unbearable. “I hope this flyover brings us some relief and is completed on time,” he said.

Notably, the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) had proposed the construction of three short-distance flyovers at Bemina, Sanat Nagar, and Nowgam intersections along NH44 in 2020 to address these issues.
