Ganderbal, Dec 09 : Atiqa Akther, a 49-year-old woman from Harran, Ganderbal, who was critically injured in a road accident on November 29 in Prang area of Kangan, succumbed to her injuries on Monday.

The accident occurred on November 29, when Atiqa was with her 14-year-old son. The mother-son duo was seriously injured and was immediately shifted to SKIMS, Soura for treatment.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), while her son remains under medical care, Atiqa’s condition worsened, and later succumbed to her injuries this afternoon.

Meanwhile, police have already registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident.

Authorities have assured that further action will be taken as part of their ongoing inquiry.

The tragic incident has left the local community in mourning, with people expressing their condolences to the grieving family—(KNO)
