Srinagar, November 4 : A delegation from the Medical Faculty Association, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, held a meeting on Monday with the Chief Secretary and the Secretary of Health & Medical Education, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, at the Civil Secretariat, Srinagar.
In a handout to GNS, the spokesman said that the meeting aimed to address the long-standing issues faced by the medical faculty in the region.
The delegation was led by the President of the Medical Faculty Association, Prof. Afroz Khan, along with Vice President Prof. Naveed Nazir, General Secretary Dr. Arshad Rashid, and other senior members of the executive. During the meeting, the faculty members highlighted several key challenges faced by the faculty to improve the quality of patient care, medical education and overall faculty welfare, he said.
The Chief Secretary and the Secretary of Health & Medical Education assured the delegation that their concerns would be addressed, and promised swift action to resolve the long-pending demands of the faculty. They expressed their appreciation for the dedication of the medical professionals at GMC Srinagar, particularly in light of the challenging circumstances under which they work.
The meeting ended on a positive note, with the government officials reiterating their commitment to the welfare of the medical faculty and the improvement of healthcare services in the region. The Medical Faculty Association expressed gratitude for the opportunity to discuss these pressing issues and looks forward to collaborative progress in the coming weeks.(GNS)
