Srinagar, Jul 24 : Stating that the adversary was trying hard to revive terrorism in Jammu, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said that admin and the security forces are committed to avenge every drop of blood spilled by the foreign terrorists in the region.

Addressing a function at Rajbhawan after releasing the Postage Stamp of Late Wazir Muhammad Hakla Poonch, the LG, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the neighbouring country is trying hard to revive the terrorism in Jammu. “Families that are taking part to strengthen peace in the region are being targeted in Poonch, Rajouri, Kathua and Reasi. “We will avenge every drop of blood spilled by foreign terrorists in Jammu region.”

Jammu region has been in news for the past few months about the spate of attacks on the army in Poonch, Rajouri, Doda districts of Jammu. The growing security concerns in Jammu have sent security agencies into a tizzy with a series of meetings taking place in New Delhi and Jammu. Recently, Army Chief General Upendera Dwivedi chaired a high level security review meeting to roll out a fresh strategy of the security grid against foreign terrorists operating in the region.

Jammu region has been in news for the past few months about the spate of attacks on the army in Poonch, Rajouri, Doda districts of Jammu. The growing security concerns in Jammu have sent security agencies into a tizzy with a series of meetings taking place in New Delhi and Jammu. Recently, Army Chief General Upendera Dwivedi chaired a high level security review meeting to roll out a fresh strategy of the security grid against foreign terrorists operating in the region.

Reaching out to Gujjars and Bakerwals, the LG said these communities are the first line of defence on borders and LoC. “They are the real warriors and we salute their courage and bravery. Administration is committed for the further upliftment of these communities,” he said.

The LG said that security forces should get accurate information about the presence of terrorists in the Jammu region. “Dismantling the terror and drug network has to be the prime responsibility of all. It’s time for a collective fight against destroying the terror ecosystem and the network involved in distributing drugs,” he said.

The LG released the Postage Stamp of prominent Gujjar leader from Poonch, late Wazir Muhamamd Hakla Poonchi, who worked hard for the Gujjar empowerment. He was the first personality from District Poonch who participated in the first ever Gujjar Conference at Shimla in Himachal Pradesh when the Government conferred Scheduled Tribe status upon the Gujjars of Himachal Pradesh. While addressing the audiences from all over the country, Poonchi had demanded that the Scheduled Tribe Status should also be conferred upon the Gujjars of Jammu and Kashmir. The movement started at that time proved fruitful in the year 1991—(KNO)
