Srinagar, Dec 29 : An elderly man, who was reportedly missing since Thursday morning, was found dead as he was allegedly killed in a hit-and-run incident at Nowgam area of Srinagar outskirts.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that an elderly man identified as Ghulam Rasool Sofi of Ganderpora Iddgah Srinagar went missing from his residence on Thursday morning. He added that a missing report was filed at Safa Kadal Police Station.

However, the authorities from Nowgam Police Station recovered his body near Tengan Crossing earlier this morning.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased had been fatally struck by an unidentified vehicle during the intervening night,” the official said.

Moreover, police have filed a case while investigation into the matter has been started—(KNO)
