“As it was a major fire, the reinforcement was also made by Fire Station Old Town Baramulla/Sangrama/Seelu/Sopore/Rohama and accordingly the fire was controlled in the shortest possible time.”

“Apart from some disruptive elements interfering in firefighting operations, fire service received good cooperation from Police, Army and General Public”, the statement reads adding “It is again reiterated that the Public should desist from approaching fire scene and should not disrupt firefighting operations.”

Notably, it was alleged that some locals expressed their resentment over alleged delay by the Fire and Emergency Services Department while reaching the site to douse off the flames. (GNS)
