Minor Girl Hospitalised After Self-styled Godman Makes Her Smoke Cigarette in Pulwama

Researchers have found marijuana metabolites in the urine of babies who were exposed to adult marijuana use.

Srinagar, Aug 17: A minor girl has been hospitalized after a self-styled godman allegedly made her smoke a cigarette in a market place in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, sources said.

They told GNS that a girl (name withheld) of Singu Narbal was hospitalized in an unconscious condition. “The mother of the minor girl has been claiming that she (minor girl) was made to puff a cigarette by a self-styled godman at Newa Market”, the sources said.

“She is currently under treatment at District Hospital Pulwama”, they said.

Identifying the accused as one Abdul Rasheed Telie, son of Late Ghulam Ahmad Telie, resident of Zadoora at present at a rental room at Newa Market, a police official told GNS that the accused is famous by the name ‘Peer Baba’ and works as tailor in the locality.

“We have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections for due proceedings”, the official added. (GNS)
