Talking to GNS, the AEE MID Sumbal, Asif Ali termed the allegations leveled by Executive Engineer of Mechanical Circle & I&FC Department as fake & baseless. “The allegations leveled by the officer are fake & baseless”, he maintained.

Asif alleged that during the course of discussion with the officer (Exen MID), he was showered with choicest abuses, attacked, injured & even the blame of was put by the former on him.

“I have moved a complaint before the Police Station concerned for registration of an FIR against the officer (Exen MID)”, he said.

Reading out the content of the complaint, AEE MID Sumbal, said, “… it is stated that today morning during office working hours I along with my Asstt. Engineer Mr. Reyaz Ahmad Bhat visited Divisional Office on the directions of Technical officer for some official work/matter to be discussed with the Executive Engineer Mr. Gayas u Din Shah. During the discussion, the Executive Engineer started blame game tactics with the remarks that the undersigned is not cooperating in illegal minting of the money which is needed at the top hierarchy also, while the discussion on some urgent official work was going on smoothly, though the U/S tried his level best to pacify the situation but all of a sudden the Executive Engineer started using invectives and abusive language thus breaking all the official protocol,” reads a letter by AEE Asif Ali addressed to SHO Sumbal.

“He even did not stop on all this but further proceeded to scuffle/manhandle with the US which all seemed pre planned. During all this, Mr. Gayas u din Shah along with his some other accomplice/s beat the U/S ruthlessly and even pushed me over the table due to which I got hurt/injured with bruises on hand and injury to groin etc. The said officer always remained a suspicious and unpredictable personality which can be checked and verified through his service record but unfortunately today he broke all the norms of humanity and official protocol as well. Moreover, the U/S has already communicated to higher authorities many times for his illegal and corrupt practices, It is therefore requested to kindly lodge FIR against the accused and take strict action as per the law,” the complaint, as per AEE MID Sumbal, reads.

“During the course of discussion regarding the installation of a drought pump at Zalpora drought. AEE Sumbal Asif Ali and AE Sumbal Riyaz Ahmad Bhat suddenly mishandled (read manhandled) me without any provocation”, he maintained in the letter.

“As already communicated, the AEE concerned is very arrogant and mischievous. Also a number of service books which were lying on my table have been damaged by these two officers. In light of above there is no option left with undersigned to proceed on protest leave w.e.f 08-04-2023. Until and unless the AEE Sumbal Asif Ali and AE Riyaz Ahmad Bhat will not be punished I will not be in a position to perform my duties,” the letter reads.

“Besides, Chief Engineer, Deputy Commissioner & SDM concerned, a copy of letter has been sent to SHO police station Sumbal alleging off & on harassment & misbehavior by the AEE in-question & declaring the latter as a threat to the life of former.”
