Srinagar, Oct 15: The Jammu and Kashmir Labour and Employment Department has issued a clarification over selectively edited video clips circulating on social media from a review meeting chaired by the department’s Secretary on October 14.

The department said the meeting, held from 3 pm to 6 pm, reviewed departmental performance across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. It added that the complete recording of the proceedings is available with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

During the meeting, the Chair stressed the need for dedicated efforts by district officers to ensure effective implementation of Mission YUVA and timely delivery of its benefits to eligible youth.

The department emphasised that official interactions must be guided by mutual respect, discipline and professional decorum, adding that provocative remarks and inappropriate language have no place in administrative proceedings.

Expressing concern over the circulation of selectively edited clips without the full context, the department said the videos were unverified and could create a misleading impression of the meeting. It added that the matter would be taken to its logical conclusion in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

The department urged media organisations and the public to exercise caution and refrain from sharing unverified or sensationalised content, reiterating its commitment to youth empowerment and effective implementation of Mission YUVA.
