Speaking to reporters after paying tributes at the Balidan Stambh in Srinagar on the occasion of Republic Day, Choudhary, per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the people have full faith in the leadership of the country. “The Prime Minister and the Home Minister have promised the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the floor of Parliament that statehood will be restored. The Supreme Court has also reiterated this assurance. We are hopeful that the promise will be honored soon,” he said.

He also said Jammu and Kashmir has always stood firmly with the Indian Army and security forces, even during the most difficult times. “Whether during militancy or war, the people of Jammu and Kashmir have always stood shoulder to shoulder with our security forces. Whenever Pakistan tried to destabilise us or weaken India, our people have made sacrifices for the Tricolour,” he said.

He stressed that communal harmony and brotherhood remain the region’s strength. “The unity among Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians has always been and will always remain strong. No power can break Jammu and Kashmir’s brotherhood,” Choudhary said—(KNO)
