“The arrival of direct train services will benefit people. We hope the services will start directly from Jammu and connect with Uri, Kargil and Leh to benefit the whole region,” he said.

He added that the revival of tourism is a must, as it is the backbone of J&K’s economy. “Those who are trying to deteriorate the situation here and are involved in the Baisaran attack should understand that they have been snatching the livelihood of the people by indulging in such acts,” he said.

The Deputy Chief Minister added that the bullets and shells must stop, so that the people of J&K live in peace.

Moreover, the Dy CM also added that there was a need to promote and take necessary measures for the revival of handicrafts and handloom sector in Jammu and Kashmir.

“I met many artisans here who put forth their demands regarding the sector. But, it is the time for all of us to work in unison for the revival of the sector. The media has to play a key role in highlighting their work to attract the buyers from across the globe,” he said—(KNO)
