Srinagar, Oct 07: In a significant development, the Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA), Srinagar, has constituted a committee to oversee the upgradation and modernization of the Bar Library at the High Court Complex. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Executive Committee held earlier today in the Bar Library.The committee, led by Senior Advocate Mr. Syed Faisal Qadri as Chairman, comprises six members from the legal fraternity, including Mr. Fayaz Ahmad Mir, Advocate (Member), Mr. Bhat Fayaz, Advocate (Member), Ms. Asma Rashid, Advocate (Member), Mr. Syed Musaib, Advocate (Member), Mr. Muddasir Ahmad Malik, Advocate (Member), all esteemed advocates of the Jammu & Kashmir High Court. The committee will review the current collection of legal resources, including books and reference materials, and make recommendations for necessary updates, replacements, or additions.
“The Bar Library is an essential resource for the legal community, and its modernization is long overdue. This committee will ensure that the library remains well-equipped to meet the research and practice needs of advocates,” President of the JKHCBA Adv Waseem Gul said.
The committee is expected to hold regular meetings and will submit its findings and recommendations to the Executive Committee of the JKHCBA for further action. This initiative aims to ensure that the Bar Library remains a premier legal resource center for practicing advocates.
The order constituting the committee remains in effect until further notice, and the committee is tasked with submitting its report in a timely manner. The Bar Association hopes that the initiative will improve the quality of legal research and provide advocates with access to more relevant and up-to-date materials.
This move is part of a broader effort by the JKHCBA to enhance legal resources and facilities for its members, reflecting its commitment to promoting legal excellence in the fraternity.
