Srinagar, Aug 03 : A teenager died after slipping into the river Kishenganga at Gurez in Bandipora district of north Kashmir while taking a bath, officials said Saturday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that a 16-year-old boy drowned to death after slipping into the river Kishanganga this afternoon. Efforts were made by the locals to save him but he couldn’t be saved.
Officials said the body of the boy, identified as Farman Majeed son of Majeed Lone of Markoot, Gurez, aged about 15 years, was later retrieved by the locals and handed over to family for last rites. A pall of gloom descended on the family, when the body of teenager Farman was handed over them as his parents and relatives were seen beating chests and crying in pain—(KNC)
