An official from SDRF told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they start their monitoring operation around 6 AM and the operation continues for about two to three hours until the visibility improves.

He added that they are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of everyone in the Lake.
Abdul Rashid, an official from SDRF, said they have urged people to exercise caution while venturing out.

They have advised shikarawallas to use proper lighting and maintain visibility, and houseboat owners to ensure that their boats are adequately equipped with safety measures.

“We are closely monitoring the situation and taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety of everyone on the Dal Lake,” said Rashid, adding that they are also providing assistance to shikara walls and houseboat owners in any way they can.

Moreover, as the foggy season continues, the SDRF will remain committed to safeguarding the Dal Lake and its inhabitants. Their dedication to safety is a testament to their unwavering commitment to serving the people of Jammu and Kashmir—(KNO)
