Nepotism: 154 illegal appointments surfaced in Bandipora health dept, reveals official data

Bandipora, Feb 08 : As the Directorate Health Services Kashmir last week issued an order regarding the details of fake and illegal appointments in Kashmir districts, atleast 154 illegal appointments surfaced in the health department at Bandipora district.

Data submitted by Bandipora heath officials to chief medical officer Bandipora, a document of which was accessed by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), revealed that at least 154 illegal appointments were surfaced in the health department of the district.

The documents also revealed that about 61 illegal appointments were found in Gurez block, 53 in Hajin block, 28 in Bandipora block and 12 in the district hospital Bandipora respectively.

Within no time, after receiving the order from DHSK last week, CMO Bandipora had sought details from concerned health officials during which 154 employees have been found illegally appointed in the health department.

Notably, on 03 February the DHSK had issued an order citing 2274 illegal appointments in the health departments across Kashmir districts wherein CMO’s from all districts were asked to submit the investigative report of these appointments in a time bound manner.

Earlier also, from time to time, the details of illegal appointments were sought by the various administrations from the health departments in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, under the LG administration, the DHSK had sought the reports of fake appointments in a time bound manner after which the latest details have come out while more illegal appointments are to get disclosed soon—(KNO)
