Bandipora, Feb 08 : As the J&K Board of School education (JKBOSE), announced results of 12th class for Kashmir province on Tuesday, a Government higher secondary school at Kilshey village in Gurez Valley has recorded zero percent pass percentage yet again.

Details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), suggest that the school has five students enrolled in 12th class with Arts stream and all of them have failed to clear the annual examination.

Locals blamed the administration and said that most of the schools in Gurez valley are without staff as the teachers prefer to get themselves deputed in other government offices so that they are not forced to go to schools in these remote areas.

“Last year, the results of this higher secondary school were the same as this year which raises a question mark over the administration,” they said, adding that they have informed the administration many times that there is a shortage of teachers in the school but nothing has happened so far.

Meanwhile, chief education officer Bandipora, Abdul Roub Shaad also admitted that there are 11 posts vacant in the same school, however they did internal adjustment for the same issue while the higher authorities were being informed from time to time but nothing positive has happened on ground yet.

Recently, KNO had carried a detailed story on the same school regarding the shortage of staff as even after the period of more than two years since it was upgraded, but the government has so far failed to fulfil the principal among 11 lecturer vacant posts thereby taking a heavy toll on the official work of these institutions.

Locals had said that the institution was already headless for the past several years which speaks volumes about the functioning of government educational institutions in the remote area. They had said that the vacant post in the government-run school has adversely affected the administrative scenario in the institution—(KNO)
