Amid closure of road, two patients airlifted from Gurez valley

Bandipora, Jan 28 : The administration in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday airlifted two patients from snowbound Gurez valley to Bandipora for immediate medical relief, officials said.

Officials at District Control Room Bandipora told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that on the directions of DC, Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad, the two patients identified as Ruqaya Nusrat, Daughter of Muhammad Shafi of Sardab and Rupanee Begum, wife of Habib Sheikh of Sheikhpora requiring emergency treatment, were airlifted from Gurez valley.

The officials said that the patients later were shifted to the hospital for special treatment.

Notably, the snow-clad Gurez valley remains cut off from the rest of the Kashmir parts during winters, owing to heavy snowfall in the valley—(KNO)
