Six coaching centres sealed for violating SOPs in Bandipora

Bandipora, Jan 10 : A day after the government issued fresh guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in view of the rise in Omicron cases, the administration in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday sealed six coaching centers for violating SOPs.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the six coaching centers that were running in the main town have been sealed by a team led by Tehsildar Bandipora Sheikh Tariq and other officials.

He said that the institutes were found violating the government orders as it has put restrictions for in-person teachings under Covid-19 guidelines for the educational institutions across Jammu and Kashmir.

The official said that many students were also found without face masks and huddled together in violation of social distancing norms. “No fine has been imposed today. In case we spot out any violation from tomorrow, further action will be taken against them,” he said.

According to the official guidelines released yesterday, all schools and higher educational institutions, including coaching centers, would continue to remain closed for in-person teaching till further orders—(KNO)
