169 fresh covid-19 cases, 2 deaths in J&K

Srinagar, Jan 1 : Jammu and Kashmir reported 169 fresh covid-19 cases while two persons died due to the virus in the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

68 of the fresh cases were reported from Jammu division and 101 from Kashmir, taking the overall tally to 341459.

Two deaths, both from Kashmir Valley, were reported due to the virus during the last 24 hours, they said. So far 4530 persons—2199 in Jammu and 2331 in Kashmir—have died due to the virus, they said.

Giving district wise details of the fresh cases, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 48 cases, Baramulla 15, Budgam 5, Pulwama 10, Kupwara 10, Anantnag 3, Bandipora 3, Ganderbal 9, Kulgam 0, Shopian 0, Jammu 34, Udhampur 2, Rajouri 1, Doda 10, Kathua 5, Samba 1, Kishtwar 0, Poonch 2, Ramban 0 and Reasi 13.

A number of these cases were confirmed at CD hospital and include male (28) from GMC Srg, female (60) from PHC Lalpora, two males (33, 65) and female (65) from Prichoo Pulwama, male (23) from Payer Pulwama, male (43) from Tral, female (85) from Hazratbal Srg, female (60) from Kralpora Budgam, male (74) from Hyderpora Srg, female (69) from Indra Nagar, male (49) from Safakadal, female (35) from Lasjan Srg, male (NA) from Soura, male (28) from Mughal Lane Srg, NA (NA) from Srinagar, female (26) from Handwara Kupwara, female (50) from Budgam, female (48) from Sopore.

Moreover, 107 Covid-19 patients recovered during the time, 20 from Jammu Division and 87 from Kashmir, they said.

So far 335532 patients have recovered, leaving active case tally at 1397—470 in Jammu and 927 in Kashmir.

They said there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 50 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said.

They also informed that 62682 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K. (GNS)
