Ahead of New Year, Tourism Dept revises rates for services provided by Tourist Traders

Srinagar, Dec 16 : The department of Tourism, Kashmir Thursday announced the rates for various services provided by the registered Tourist Traders ahead of the new year-2022.

The services include Shikara ride, Pony ride, Photography, Tourist guide etcetera.

Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir P.K Pole earlier this month informed that rates will be implemented with five percent enhancement.

As per the new rate list accessed by the News Agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the list does not include Houseboats, Restaurants, Hotels and Taxis. The new rates will start from April-01-2022, until the previous rates will continue to be enforced.

The rate for the Shikara ride in Dal Lake has been fixed to Rs. 770 per hour for three kilometers with Rs 440 for every subsequent hour, with current rate as Rs.700 and Rs. 400 respectively. The same rates have been fixed for Nigeen Lake.

The rate per day (six hours) for Dal Lake and Nigeen Lake has been fixed to Rs. 2970, with current rate as Rs. 2700. Similarly, rates from different Ghats of the Lake to different destinations have also been mentioned in the new tourism rate list.

Besides, Shikara ride in Manasbal Lake has been fixed to Rs. 275 per hour from Rs. 250 per hour. Rates for different destinations in the Manasbal Lake have also been fixed with a five percent increment.

For Pony rides rates fixed from April-01-2022 have been fixed to Rs.495 for the first hour of ride to Rs. 330 for every subsequent hour. And, Pony trekking has been fixed to Rs. 2420 per day with current rate as Rs. 2200 per day.

The Pony rates for Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Yousmarg and Doodhpatri destinations have also been announced in the list with five percent enhancement than the current rate.

Also, the rate for Tourist guides has been fixed to Rs. 990 per day whereas the rate is Rs.900 per day.

Rates for sledge, rafting, cycling, motor boats, paragliding including other fun activities have also been elaborated in the new rate list.The new rate list is available on the tourism department website—(KNO)
