Srinagar, Dec 11 (GNS): Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar on Saturday said that 450 tests were conducted on international travellers so far recently and one of them have tested positive for covid-19.
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a book launch event, ADC Syed Hanif Balkhi, as per GNS said that all those coming from abroad are tested again at airport. “It feels a bit inconvenient to the people but is necessary. The good news is that only one out of 450 tested recently came positive for Covid-19. He is from Bandipora. Rest tested negative.”
There is nothing to worry, he said. However, precautions need to be necessarily taken, he added. So far no case of omicron has been found in Jammu and Kashmir. Samples of those with international travel history having tested positive for the covid-19 are sent for genome sequencing to confirm or rule out omicron variant. (GNS)
