Shopian Encounter: Unidentified militant killed, operation on

Srinagar, July 18: An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in Sidiq Khan area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Official sources told GNS that one militant has been killed in the ongoing encounter. However identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained.

Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army’s 34RR had launched a cordon and search operation in the area.

As the joint team approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering off the gunfight. (GNS)
