CUK organizes art and craft competition

Srinagar, Feb 1: Central University of Kashmir (CUK) today organised an art and craft competition in collaboration with Government Senior Secondary School Natipora.
The competition was held for the students of 6th, 7th and 8th classes which was supervised by Dean and Head School of Education, Dr. Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani.

CUK organized the art competition as part of its social commitment to provide education and mentorship to hundreds of students belonging to Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups
across Jammu and Kashmir.

Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mehraj ud Din Mir, who graced the occasion, through video conference, lauded the efforts of the Department and praised the teacher trainees who organised the event. Prof. Mir assured that the varsity shall continue to serve the community at the grassroots level as envisaged in the NEP-2020.

Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar speaking on the occasion, through video conference congratulated all the students for participating in the competition amid the chilling weather.

Later, all the participants were given prizes in the competition. Arbaz Ahmad was declared the overall winner of the competition for making a football ground. In the 8th standard category the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were bagged by Irfan Ahmad, Bumika Akhter and Nehal respectively, while in the 7th standard category the 1st and 2nd prize was bagged by Sania akhter,  Seerat Jan  and in the 6th standard category the 1st and 2nd  prize was bagged by Sabreena Akhter and Aiman Jan respectively.

The event was organised by the Pupil teachers under the leadership of Munaza Manzoor.

Dr Syed Zahoor Ahmed Geelani also interacted with students and emphasized the importance of hard work, dignity, and the value of time.
