Officials said that there is high suspicion that the money that the donation money collected for poor is being misused for personal benefits by the Facebook Page owner.

The Magistrate has mentioned that
Mission Director, ICPS J & K Jammu, Secretary District Legal Services Authority Ganderbal & Civil Society Ganderbal have intimated vide above referred communiqués that huge amount has been credited into the account of one of the three sisters namely Ms. Rihana and in the account of Kashmir Crown after the video that went viral which you shared through the social media on 12-12-2020 at 06:00 pm depicting deplorable living conditions of three minor girls ( sisters ) from Gutlibagh, Ganderbal.

The Magistrate has said that probe has been ordered for “proper accounting of the donations is to be maintained for its judicious use”.

Further, the magistrate in another order has asked the JK Bank Manager, Khwaja Bagh unit, Baramulla, to stop transactions of account No. 0567010100000330 of Kashmir Crown Trust till the committee submits its report.

Media fraternity has lauded the Magistrate Ganderbal for ordering probe.

“The role of media is to highlight issues of people and apprise government and public about it. Seeking donations and alms is not what media is meant for. The Magistrate Ganderbal has done an appreciable job as a fair inquiry will help to stop this alms- seeking in the name of poor and then collecting the name in one’s own Trust,” several media persons said.

It is to mention that the above said Facebook user has in the past run same alms seeking appeals by interviewing poor and collecting money into his own Trust.

People have demanded that all transactions into the Trust’s account should be probed so that all the donors must know how and where their money was used.
