Real Kashmir FC defeats Solina Sports FC 2-1; lifts Anantnag Champions Knockout Football trophy

Srinagar, Nov 2:  In the final match of Anantnag Champions Knockout Football Tournament-2020, Real Kashmir FC defeated Solina FC  2-1 goals in a match played at Sports Stadium Anantnag.

In the high voltage game, the star studded teams played aggressive football from the word go which delighted the fans who had thronged the venue in huge numbers. As the match started, forwards of both the teams started attacking other goalposts to seize an early initiative. However, defence lines of both the teams ensured that no damage was done.

Real Kashmir FC maintained their reputation of attacking football with Ateeb and Ibrahim going close in the early exchanges and the team was finally rewarded when Ibrahim Rasheed scored with a delightful finish on a Corner kick.

Leading by a goal boosted the confidence of RKFC players and they kept defenders of the opposite team under pressure. Ateeb was the 2nd player who showed his skills and doubled the lead for his winning team . Ist Half ended with 2-0.

The second half also started with the two teams making all out efforts to score. The intense battle continued for most part of the second half. As Solina Sports FC made more attacks on the opposite goalpost, they were successful in scoring Ist goal in the 53rd minute of the play through Waris.

The Solina FC players tried their best to score a level,but strong defence lines of RKFC thwarted all their attempts. When the referee blew the final whistle the score line read 2-1 in favour of RKFC.

Jammu & Kashmir Football Association has congratulated the RKFC Team and management for their marvellous win and hoped that they will carry on with the momentum.

Man of the match was given to Ibrahim from RKFC for his spectacular goal and the best player of the tournament was given to Inam from Solina FC for his outstanding performance throughout the tournament.

Taif and Fahad from Anantnag Titans FC and Nasheman FC were rewarded as emerging players of the tournament.

The Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag K.K.Sidha was the Chief Guest and Hilal Ahmad Shah Chairman Municipal Council Anantnag was the Guest of honour. The other dignitaries who were present on the occasion were  Fayaz Ahmad Sofi (President DFA Srinagar ), Abdul Majeed Kakroo (Ex.Indian National Team Captain ), Bilal Punjabi, Assistant General Secretary JKFA and r Shfeeq Ahmad ,JKFA Member

The tournament was organised by District Football Association Anantnag under the aegis of Jammu and Kashmir Football Association in which 20 teams participated.
