Two-day traditional folk music festival begins at Town Hall Kunzar

Tangmarg: Here in Kunzar Tangmarg, a two day traditional folk music  was inaugrated by Gulshan Cultural Forum Kashmir.
The programme is being held in colloboratoon with Sangeet Natak Akademi. Kashmir’s active cultural association and theater group Gulshan Cultural Forum Kashmir in association with Sangeet Natak Academy launched the Folk Music Festival.
The festival was inaugurated by renowned folk actor and Sangeet Natak Academy Awardee Gulzar Ahmed Ganai as the Chief guest. Leading educationist Prof. Abdul Jabbar presided over the function. Mohi-ud-Din Aajiz and renowned Sufi poet Sheikh Ghulam Rasool were present in the Presidency as guests honours. President of the forum, Syed Bashir Kausar in his welcome address stated the aims and objectives of the program.
On this occasion, the General Secretary of the Forum, Gulshan Badrani, while mentioning the Sangeet Natak Academy and local cultural institutions, termed these cultural programs as an important means of relieving mental stress.
Gulzar Ganai, the chief guest of the festival, appreciated the efforts of the Gulshan Cultural Forum and said that linking theater with literature in this way is a matter of urgency. Gulshan Badrani appriciated the workers of the forum including Latif Niazi, Ashok Kak, Pirzada Ashraf, Khurshid Khamosh Maqbool Sheida, Idrees Badrani, Idrak Naseem, Omer Shaida and  Ahmed bin Fayyaz while expressing his views, he added that it is not only difficult but also impossible to keep cultural activities alive in this material age, if the relevant government and non-government agencies as well as other literary, educational and Private businesses do not come forward.
Mr. Badrani while thanking Sangeet Natak Academy, Delhi and the Union Ministry of Culture, said that if these institutions did not have the support of Kashmir Cultural Associations, the names of these associations would not be heard today as they are bright symbols of Kashmir’s cultural landscape. ۔ He treated those artists as well as those who treated unfavorable situations. He was thanked for his name and appreciated his work towards the theater.
