Kulgam, May 04 : The body of a 23-year-old youth was recovered from Nallah at Adbal Wattoo area of DH Pora in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.

According to sources, he was an Over Ground Worker (OGW) and had links with terrorists.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the deceased has been identified as Imtiaz Ahmad Magray, 23, son of Nazir Ahmad Magray, a resident of Tangmarg. He was working as a labourer.

The body was recovered from the Nallah by locals, following which police were informed. A police team reached the spot and took custody of the body for medico-legal formalities.

Police sources said Imitiaz Ahmad Magray (23), S/O Najir Ahmad Magray R/O Tangmarg P/S Manzgam had confessed about knowledge of hideout with presence of two Pakistan terrorists.

“Today morning when CASO was launched, deceased went to the hideout spot (near river bed) under close supervision via videographed drone, consequently, he jumped in Vishaw Nallah and probably to tried to escape via river route.”

It is also learnt that he was aware of the first terrorist hideout that was busted by security forces in Tangmarg forest, where contact was established on April 23, officials said.

Today while locating the second terrorist hideout, he jumped into the river and died by suicide, officials said, adding that legal proceedings have been started in this regard—(KNO)
