Boat capsizes in Dal Lake, one rescued, another missing, search on

Srinagar, May 02 : At least two persons drowned on Friday after a boat capsized in Dal Lake near Duck Park amid gusty winds. However, one among them has been rescued while the search operation is going on to trace the other missing individual.

Amid gusty winds, two individuals in the boat jumped into Dal Lake. One among them was rescued while the other remains missing.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the incident occurred this afternoon when the two individuals were fishing in the boat near Duck Park, Srinagar.

The official added that the duo jumped in the Dal Lake after the boat was hit by the strong winds.

Meanwhile, officials from the SDRF Srinagar told KNO that two individuals were on the boat, and one is still missing, while the other has been rescued.

The official confirmed that they have alerted the headquarters, which has sent dive teams and additional boats for the rescue operation. The search is ongoing.

The rescued individual has been identified as Abdul Majeed Khosa, son of Mohammad Sultan Khosa, a resident of Rainawari, Srinagar—(KNO)
