The meeting primarily focused on reviewing security arrangements in anticipation of the upcoming festivals, particularly Eid-ul-Fitr, and the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY). Discussions centered on safeguarding public security, ensuring law and order, and ensuring the smooth execution of these large-scale events, he said.

With Eid-ul-Fitr approaching, which typically sees large congregations for night prayers and other religious observances at mosques across the Kashmir Valley, IGP Kashmir issued clear directives for effective crowd control management. He emphasized the need for adequate security measures to prevent overcrowding, ensure public safety, and maintain the orderly conduct of events across the valley. Specific instructions were given to control entry and exit points, deploy personnel at strategic locations, and collaborate with local community leaders for seamless event coordination, he said.

Officers were instructed to enhance vigilance, conduct random checks at sensitive locations, and increase security patrols to mitigate any potential threats during the festivals.

In addition to preparations for the festivals, the meeting also focused on the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which attracts thousands of pilgrims each year. IGP Kashmir underscored the importance of meticulous planning, with a particular focus on logistical arrangements, route security, and emergency response protocols.

Throughout the meeting, IGP Kashmir emphasized the need for seamless coordination between various security agencies to address the complex security challenges posed by these major events.
