Replying to the question of Congress MLA, Tariq Hameed Karra, the concerned minister said that funds to the tune of Rs 3500.00 lacs were provided annually under Special Area Development Programme in addressing the infrastructure deficit in Srinagar district, particularly in the sectors of Health Education, Public Health Engineering and road connectivity etc till 2019-20 as an additionality in addressing the infrastructure deficit in Srinagar district.

As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), he said for FY 2021-22 and 2022-23 funds were provisioned under the scheme to meet out any pending liabilities projected by the districts.

“However, in FY 2023-24 & 2024-25, no funds were provisioned in view of the fact that no such demands were received from the district,” he said.

“The release of funds is decided after need assessment of additional requirements for the Srinagar district for the want of bridging any infrastructure gap,” he added—(KNO)
