Tourism Deptt appoints Nodal Officers to assist visitors

Control Room established at TRC Srinagar for providing seamless support

Srinagar, Dec 31 : In a bid to support and assist the tourists visiting Kashmir during the ongoing winter season, the Tourism Department has nominated the nodal officers to respond to any exigency or the issues faced by the guests.

According to an order, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), three Deputy Directors of Tourism have been appointed as nodal officers for South, Central and North Kashmir areas.

Malik Waseem, as per the order has been appointed as Nodal officer for South Kashmir with mobile number 7006856600 while Nasir Mehmood Khan (9622669777) and Asif Iqbal (7006707274) have been appointed as Nodal Officers for North and Central Kashmir areas respectively.

The nodal officers shall work under the supervision of Dr S D Chowdary, Deputy Director Tourism, Enforcement (SSP) (9797066007).

“The nodal officers shall closely liaise with the concerned resort officers and concerned district administrations/departments for timely resolution of issues,” the order reads.

The resort officers and Tourist Police have been mentioned for five places including Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Kokernag, Sonamarg and Doodpathri.

Meanwhile, a control room has also been constituted at Tourist Reception Centre (TRC), Srinagar, to provide seamless assistance to tourists and respond to emergencies during the winter.

The control room comprises of Nisar Rasool, Assistant Director Tourism (9906663868), Azad Yaseen (7006886562), Gowhar Raffiee (7006580763), both Assistant Tourist Officer, Sidharth Sathoo (7889727957), Rahul Pandita (7006389514) and Vishant Pandita (7298506506)—all receptionists, Zahida Parveen MT (6005917704) and Abdul Rashid Bhat MT Reception Counter (7889451394)—(KNO)
