14 employees found absent at MC Watergam, disciplinary action ordered

Sopore, Nov 20 : In a surprise inspection at the Municipal Committee (MC) Office Watergam in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday, at least 14 employees were found absent without authorization, while two others were attached.

Official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that following the inspection, the Additional DC Sopore, S. A Raina took a serious note of the unauthorized absenteeism and directed the Executive Officer (EO) of the MC to seek explanations from the absent employees and take necessary actions, which may include the deduction of half a day’s salary.

The EO was instructed to submit an Action Taken Report (ATR) within two days, he said.

In addition, serious irregularities were observed in the attendance register. Shoukat Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad were found to have marked attendance for absent employees, following which, both the officials were attached to the office of Tehsildar Watergam, pending the completion of an inquiry, the official added.

The employees found absent include, Abdul Latief Ganaie, Umar Farooq Beigh, Showkat Ahmad Kaloo, Muneera Bano, Shaheena Kousar, Reyaz Ahmad Qadri, Gh Ahmad Malla, Abdul Rashid Lone, Mohammad Ashraf Yatoo, Ghulam Qadri Gojri, Javid Ahmad, Mohammad Shafi Lone, Rafiqa Bano and Aijaz Ahmad—(KNO)
