PDP appoints Mehboob Beg as Chief Spokesman, Para as leader of Legislative Party

Srinagar, Nov 14 : In a move to strengthen its communication and legislative strategies, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Thursday held a crucial meeting in Srinagar, which was chaired by the party president Mehbooba Mufti.

During the meeting, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the key appointments were made to reinforce the party’s organizational structure and enhance its outreach effectively.

Senior party member and former parliamentarian, Dr. Mehboob Beg was appointed the Chief Spokesperson of PDP.

Notably, Dr. Beg, a senior political leader of the PDP brings a wealth of experience and knowledge. His appointment is seen as a strategic move to improve the party’s outreach and communication with the public, as well as to effectively counter political narratives in the region.

Meanwhile, during the party meeting, MLA Pulwama Waheed ur Rehman Para was appointed as leader of the Legislative Party while MLA Tral, Rafiq Naik was nominated as his Deputy.

Besides, MLA Kupwara, Mir Fayaz was assigned with the role of chief whip.

The meeting, attended by senior leaders including Ab Rehman Veeri, Mohd. Sartaj Madni, Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura, Asiya Naqash, Adv Haq Khan, Basharat Bukhari, and Mohd Khurshid Alam also featured an in-depth discussion on the current political situation and the state of party affairs.

Speaking on the occasion, PDP President Mufti stressed on the need for strong and consistent communication, particularly in the face of ongoing political challenges in Jammu & Kashmir.

She expressed confidence in Dr. Beg’s ability to steer the party’s message forward—(KNO)
