SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 27 : Security forces has detained national Conference (NC) leader and Bijbehara MLA Bashir Ahmad Veeri at Srinagar Airport on Sunday after detecting two live rounds of pistol ammunition in his possession.
Reliable sources told Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com that Veeri, who was en-route to Jammu, was apprehended during a routine security check at the airport.
Following the recovery of two live rounds from his baggage, the MLA was immediately shifted to the Humhama police post for questioning.
Police has initiated a thorough investigation to determine how the ammunition came to be in his possession.
