Er Rashid Leads Pledge Against Drug Abuse, Urges Karnah Youth to Enforce Social Boycott of Drug Peddlers

Karnah, October 21: Member of Parliament Er Rashid continued his two-day visit to Karnah, addressing key local concerns, sanctioning development projects and taking a strong stance against drug abuse.

During his visit to Gundgujran, Er Rashid secured assurances from senior officials that restoration work on the road closed due to erosion would begin soon. At Hajam Mohalla Teetwal, he promised that the drinking water issue would be resolved within a month, directing PHE officials to provide the necessary pipes.

While addressing the people in Teetwal, Er Rashid took a firm stance against drug abuse, calling on the community, especially the youth, to pledge not only to abstain from drugs but also to ensure the social boycott of those involved in drug peddling. He emphasized that this united stance is essential to protect the future of the region’s youth and safeguard the community from the harmful effects of drugs.

Later, at Semari, the last village near the LoC, Er Rashid addressed another local issue by pledging to establish a food store and ensuring that work on the village road would begin soon.

In Kadhama, Er Rashid met delegation of villagers, who had boycotted the Parliamentary election due to a lack of basic facilities. Er Rashid assured them that their concerns, particularly regarding road construction, the work on said road will commence soon.

In the education sector, Er Rashid visited Higher Secondary School Tanghdar, where he sanctioned Rs 3 lacs from MPLAD for smart class boards and promised that the pending building work would be completed by March. He also visited New Light Model Public School Cheterkote, where he sanctioned two computers for the school and praised the chairman for his dedication to providing quality education. He also visited Govt Hr Secondary School Kandi where he sanctioned Rs 2 lac for Smart Class boards from MPLAD.

During his visit to the 12MW under-construction power project, Er Rashid urged the authorities to prioritize employing local skilled and unskilled labor. He also sanctioned a vehicle for the Government Degree College Tanghdar and visited Darul Uloom, offering continued support for education in the region.

Er Rashid’s visit underscored his commitment to addressing both the development needs and the social issues faced by Karnah, with a particular focus on rallying the community to combat the growing threat of drug abuse.
