Candidates are leaving no stone unturned in this crucial electoral opportunity as they try to reach out to the people through road shows and extensive door-to-door campaigns.

According to the details obtained by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the door-to-door campaigns have been quite striking, as candidates try to reach the constituents directly in their neighbourhood areas, in different parts of Srinagar city and other places.

Almost all political parties in Jammu & Kashmir have been conducting road shows and campaigns for the last few weeks to attract more voters.

This personal touch has gained momentum. “It is refreshing to see candidates coming to our doorstep and listening to our issues firsthand. However, only time will tell how true their promises will be,” said a local in Srinagar.

Farida Begum, another local said the door-to-door efforts make all the difference. “We are in a position to discuss what we need and expect from those who wish to represent us,” she said.

Meanwhile, according to data obtained by KNO, a total of 794 candidates filed their nominations. Of them, 459 nominations have been accepted, 98 rejected and 52 withdrawn. Presently, 458 candidates are contesting the elections—(KNO)
