Ganderbal, Sep 06 : Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district is set to participate in the second phase of the assembly elections on September 25, 2024, with over 2.08 lakh registered voters.

Election preparations in the district are complete, ensuring a smooth, transparent, and free electoral process.

According to official data obtained by the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the district has a total of 208,018 registered voters: 104,162 males and 103,856 females.

Ganderbal district is divided into two assembly constituencies: Kangan (ST) and Ganderbal.

Kangan (ST) Constituency (AC 17)

This constituency has 78,904 registered voters, comprising 40,000 males and 38,904 females. A total of 110 polling stations have been set up to facilitate voting in this area.

Ganderbal Constituency (AC 18)

This constituency has a larger electorate of 129,114 voters, with 64,162 males and 64,952 females. Voting will take place at 157 polling stations established to ensure accessibility for all voters.

In total, 267 polling stations have been established across the district, each equipped with essential facilities such as ramps, electricity, drinking water and separate toilets for men and women, as per the Assured Minimum Facilities.

District officials said all necessary arrangements are in place to conduct the elections in a free, fair, and smooth manner to ensure accessibility for all eligible voters—(KNO)
