Pulwama, Aug 19 : Peoples Democratic Party is facing dissidence in several assembly constituencies over distribution of tickets for upcoming assembly polls.
As per details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the PDP’s parliamentary board today released the list of constituency incharges of south Kashmir. Those made constituency are A R Veeri ( Anantnag East), Sartaj Madni (Devsar), Dr Mehboob Beg (Anantnag), Gh Nabi Lone Hanjura (Chaar-e-Shareef), Iltija Mufti (Bijbehara), Gh Mohi-ud-din Wani (Wachi), Waheed ur Rehman Para (Pulwama) and Rafiq Ahmad Naik ( Tral).
Sources told KNO that Abdur Rehman Veeri is reportedly upset over the party’s decision of fielding him from Anantnag East instead of Bijbhera where the party has decided to field Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter.
Veeri, has won Bijbhera seat four times.
Several party leaders and workers said that they aren’t happy with the decision as, according to them, Veeri wasn’t taken into confidence before taking this decision.
They termed the decision of fielding him from Anantnag East as irrational and illogical.
They said the party leaders in Shangus too aren’t happy with the decision.
Nonetheless, KNO tried to contact A R Veeri in this regard, but he was not available to comment on the issue.
In Shopian’s Zainapora, PDP has made senior worker Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani as constituency in charge while former MLA and DDC member Aijaz Ahmad Mir has been dropped.
Aijaz Ahmad Mir told KNO that he wasn’t taken into confidence by the party leadership before taking this decision.
He said that he isn’t happy with it and will take up a decision after discussing the issue with his workers—(KNO)
