The film, starring renowned actor Kiran Kumar, is already creating a buzz among local film enthusiasts.

Kiran Kumar, the revered Bollywood actor, as per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), shared his admiration for Kashmir’s unparalleled beauty. “Kashmir is an incredibly beautiful place; it feels like my own. If there is heaven anywhere, it is here, it is here, it is here,” said Kumar.

“I am enchanted by the magic of this place. The Wazwan and the hospitality here are something that touches the heart deeply,” he said.

Discussing the film, Kumar shared the captivating script that drew him to the project. “The Last Candidate has a very beautiful script, and as I read it, I envisioned Kashmir. It is a story devoid of AK-47s and militancy, focusing instead on a clean and poignant narrative. I play the character of Hayat Khan, a very upright government official who believes in rightful entitlement,” said Kumar, adding the entire movie is based on the simplicity of the Kashmiri people and runs for approximately 90 minutes, potentially falling into the short film category. “Watching The Last Candidate, you will feel like you are witnessing a true story,” he added.

Speaking about local talent involved in the production, Kumar said, “Apart from me and my son, all the actors are local and incredibly talented. They work with great passion. I pray that my colleagues in Mumbai also come to shoot their films here and realize the potential and need for local talent,” he added.
