Human Trafficking case of Ushkara Bla: 2 more accused persons arrested, 3 minor girls rescued

Srinagar, Jul 22 : Jammu and Kashmir Police in Baramulla on Monday said to have rescued three more minor girls and arrested two persons involved in a case under FIR number 173/2024 of PS Baramulla.

“During the course of investigation of case FIR No. 173/2024 of PS Baramulla, it surfaced that two (02) more persons identified as Ghulam Mohammad Khan son of Ab Rehman resident of Narbal & Manzoor Ahmad Shah son of Gh Mohammad resident of Janbazpora, were also involved in the trafficking and exploitation of minor girls from outside the UT,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

Subsequently, a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO PS Baramulla, arrested both the accused persons and were shifted to Police Station Baramulla, besides, recovered three minor victim girls of Rohingya, Burma, police said.

Pertinent to mention here that two accused persons from Baramulla were arrested and 4 minor girls were rescued during the initial investigation of the case, police said, adding that this operation demonstrates the commitment of the J&K Police to combating human trafficking and ensuring the safety and dignity of vulnerable individuals—(KNO)
