Srinagar, Mar 20 : A local court here has issued a notice to a Facebook admin in a defamation plea filed by a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) “Smile Foundation” for allegedly circulating “malafide videos” against it.

In an order, the court of Munsiff/Sub Registrar Srinagar Adnan Manzoor Naqashbandi, as per GNS, restrained the admin namely Mudasir Bashir, alias Mudasir Aziz, from ‘interfering with the affairs of the NGO or uploading any video related to the organization.’

The court also directed admin to remove all the related content to the case in hand from his Facebook pages.

The admin has also been asked by the court to respond to the notice by the next date of hearing on March 26.

The plaintiff NGO was represented in the court by advocates Talib Hussain and Seerat Mehraj.

According to the plea, Mudasir has been “managing” multiple Facebook pages with the names ‘Kashmir Youth Power’, ‘News Express’, ‘Mission Kashmir’ and Mudasir Aziz’ and “masquerading as a journalist to defame people and settle personal grudges”. (GNS)
