Srinagar, Jan 16 : After remaining defunct for at least 6 years, the VSAT system installed at Panchayat Ghar Khriti Larnoo has been made functional again.
Notice of the non-functional VSAT system was taken by Tehsildar Larnoo, following which the matter was taken up in the month of November 2023 with BSNL to repair it. BSNL deputed technical team and the system was eventually made functional again.
VSAT system provides internet connectivity using satellite systems. This is important for a place like Larnoo where there’s no internet connectivity through fibre network and reliance is completely on mobile internet.
This is in a series of efforts by Tehsildar Larnoo to make non-functional government assets functional again to prevent loss to the public exchequer as well as to continue the welfare that the general public derives from these assets.
Other assets which remained defunct for years have been again made functional recently including tourist facilitation Kiosk at Daksum, check post Daksum and building of the playfield at Khriti. (GNS)
