Srinagar, Dec 28 : Additional & Sessions Court Handwara Thursday pronounced its judgement in a murder case with handing life imprisonment to three and two year imprisonment to as many in the murder case pertaining to year 2009.

As learnt by GNS, a case vide FIR number 128/2009 under sections 302, 147, 148, 149 & 323 of RPC (now IPC) was registered at Police Station Handwara after a person namely Abdul Rashid Beigh, son of Ghulam Ahmad Beigh of Beighpora was murdered by a group of inter-related persons during a duel.

The duel, as per brief facts, erupted when local inhabitants were discussing a suitable venue for the newly sanctioned SSA Primary School for Beighpora Wadder Mohalla and the victim was brutally attacked and left dead during the incident.

Additional Sessions Judge Umi Kulsoom pronounced the much-anticipated verdict into the case on Thursday and handed life imprisonment to three which included Bashir Ahmad Mir, Manzoor Ahmad Beigh and Habibullah Beigh and three women Raja Begum, Fameeda Begum and Maala Begum were awarded two years imprisonment.

Meanwhile, the Civil Society has hailed the Court decision into the matter. (GNS)
